FAQ's
Q. What is the difference
between "marine grade" and "above sea" coral
calcium?
A. The marine grade coral calcium is generally considered to be
a little higher quality due to its 2:1 calcium to magnesium content.
Also, the mining and processing costs are higher than above sea
coral. Above sea coral does not have the same amount of magnesium
as marine grade coral, therefore, the manufacturers will add magnesium
to the final product. Other than calcium and magnesium, the mineral
content of both types of coral calcium are very similar.
Q. Do you sell "marine
grade" or "above sea" coral calcium?
A. We actually sell both types of coral calcium so that the consumer
can have the choice of which supplement they require.
Q. What is pH and does
coral calcium raise the pH level?
A. pH = a positively charged hydrogen atom and refers to how acidic
a solution is.
A lower number means more acidic and a higher number means it is
more alkaline. A pH saliva reading of 7.5 is excellent and most
children will register at this healthy reading. Most adults tend
to register at a pH of 6.5 or lower which indicates a calcium deficiency.
If your body's pH is not balanced, you cannot effectively assimilate
vitamins, minerals and food supplements.
Q. What makes coral calcium easily absorbable?
A. Coral calcium contains magnesium. Magnesium is important in
aiding calcium to be absorbed into the body. If magnesium was not
present the body would not be able to absorb calcium efficiently
and the beneficial qualities of calcium would be wasted.
Q. How much coral calcium should I take?
A. It is recommended that adults take 1000 mg of calcium per day.
Additional calcium (1200 mg) has been recommended for pregnant and
lactating women. Adults with osteoporosis, a 1500 mg dose is typical.
Q. Can I buy large quantities of your coral calcium
products?
A. Yes, please contact us for more details and for pricing.
Q. Can Coral Calcium cure disease?
A. No, Coral Calcium has been known to assist in balancing the
pH level of the body creating an environment where the body can
heal itself.
Q. What type of coral calcium is the best?
A. The main indicator of quality is accepted to be the raw material
with the highest amount of natural occurring minerals.
Q. What are the other trace minerals found in
coral calcium?
A. There are over 70 trace minerals found in coral calcium some
of which are Zinc, Iron, Potassium, Magnesium and Selenium.
Q. Can I take too much calcium?
A. The recommended daily dose is 1000 mg for adults. If more is
consumed it is not harmful, the body will pass what it does not
require.
Q. Is the gathering of Coral Calcium harming
the reefs?
A. There are huge discrepancies surrounding this issue. The harvesting
is strictly supervised by the Japanese government.
No living coral is harmed or destroyed in accordance with the "Washington
Treaty"
Q. How long does it take to have a product delivered?
A. The customer service can vary between companies, but for the
most part orders are filled within 24-48 hours of being received.
Generally orders to the US and Canada take between 2-6 business
days while international orders will take 7-14 business days.
Q. How long before I can see the results?
A. The rate of absorption of coral calcium is much higher than
other calcium supplements. The results may vary, but the vast majority
of users feel a difference in their health within a week or two.
Q. Are there any side effects when taking Coral
Calcium?
A. NO. Calcium is a naturally occurring mineral in the body and
the body requires it to stay healthy, therefore, there are no side
effects from taking coral calcium. If you do have any concerns we
do advise consulting a health care practitioner before taking this
supplement. In some cases, calcium can decrease the effects of many
medications by binding to them or changing the acidity of the stomach
or urine.
